I've been looking to get a full-time job related to animation and illustration. This is a little character created as part of the job application process for one such job. They required the drawing to be created in Adobe Illustrator™. I did the preliminary sketches by hand though using the old analog tool known as a "pencil" then I scanned the image and opened it in Illustrator. I created my own custom brush for the inking because my old version of Illustrator doesn't seem to have any brushes that load automatically and those that are available in the built-in brush libraries don't act anything like a simple round sable. Isn't it somewhat absurd to have a program called Illustrator that doesn't open with a working brush tool? I'm enjoying the results even if I find the whole process to be bewildering. All the tutorial videos I've scrounged have been most helpful.
